When therapy can really help...
Often we can muster the strength to tackle problems. Sometimes, however, new circumstances test our efforts and we don’t bounce back the way we used to.
When stress and anxiety begin to interfere with our ability to live our lives as we’d like, and we feel we can’t turn to family or friends, seeing a skillful and knowledgable professional can help.
A Safe space for healing
In a safe therapeutic space, healing old wounds, understanding patterns, and honoring hidden strengths uncover new paths that lead toward improved relationships, joy, and well-being. By breaking through patterns that no longer serve you, you can discover and understand how your experiences are what helped to create someone with resilience, strength, and value. Self-awareness is one giant step closer to feeling more “present” and living an authentic life with meaningful connections.

About Jean
My life experiences were critical in shaping the therapist I am today. Growing up in a home with four older sisters, I had countless opportunities that provided me with insight to how women behave. While in college I began to explore the mind-body connection with instruction in many modalities, including mindfulness and meditation. With the help of an experienced and empathic therapist, I looked inward, broke through old patterns, and rebuilt my sense of self. I began to acknowledge myself for all that I am, rather than beat myself up for what I am not. I learned how valuable I am and how to allow myself to be seen and loved by those who care about me. I improved my communication skills and challenged myself to deal with conflict using new techniques and tools. I love the choices I am making and the relationships I am building. Most of all, I love that I can look backward with grace and forward with enthusiasm. I rely on these formative experiences, my university education, countless workshops on therapeutic techniques, my work experience, and my life experience to help you do the same.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#69739) in Texas and certified as an EMDR therapist. As a result of integrating evidence-based strategies over the course of many years, I am able to support adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, and attachment issues by knowing exactly which well to draw from.
I hold a Doctorate in Education from the University of Houston and a Masters in Counselor Education from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. I have teaching certifications in special education, elementary education, and social studies, as well as in school counseling. My husband and I have two grown children and live in Texas with our rescue.
